Tresde is a bistro-style restaurant offering dishes influenced to some extent by French cuisine. Established by 3 friends who manage different parts of the restaurant, Tresde has been an up-and-coming establishment. It has been included as a recommendation both in the Michelin and in Repsol guides.
We visited on a Sunday for dinner.
Location/Environment
Tresde is located in La Latina neighborhood. The restaurant gives you a warm and welcoming feeling with the wood tones that dominate its decoration.
Tresde-Menu
The menu is set up with a classic starter, main course, and dessert options. A set menu price allows you to pick one of the dishes offered in each category. The menu changes regularly but you would typically find 3-4 options in each of the three categories.
Service
The service was very professional and attentive. However, the staff was not overly formal or overbearing. They allowed us time to choose, explaining all the different options and dishes of the day.
Every person on the staff spoke great English.
Tresde-Food
We started with some bread, onion butter, and a couple of fresh oysters.
For the appetizers, we first opted for the La Rioja tomato salad with onions, Kalamata olives and hard-boiled egg. The salad was topped with oregano sorbet which was aromatic and refreshing.
We also opted for the zucchini stuffed with ricotta and pistachios. Very good texture and high-quality ingredients.
For the main course, we opted for the fish of the day which was sea bass with fennel salad. The fish was cooked perfectly and this was an overall very good dish.
We also got the lamb polpettone, i.e. meatloaf with vegetables, parsnip puree and beef juice. Although I am not a big fan of the meatloaf texture, I liked this dish because of the freshness of the vegetables and the richness of the beef gravy.
For dessert, we got the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and mint ganache. The mint was a great addition and this is one of the best desserts I had in a while.
Conclusion
My visit to Tresde has been really enjoyable. Fresh ingredients, great execution and a nice environment. Based on the dishes you could say that they are doing contemporary cuisine, but all in all, it is high quality at a reasonable price. Definitely recommended.
