Los Chuchis is a small bar and grill with elements of a British pub. Its owner, who comes from Britain, has set up a cozy little space and even though a lot of people are skeptical of British cuisine, Los Chuchis is always full of customers.
We visited with friends on a Saturday for lunch.
Location
Los Chuchis occupies a small space in Lavapies. A large barra is the centerpiece of the dining room, with a few smaller tables around it.

Due to the small space expect your clothes to get a bit smelly from all the cooking in the kitchen.
Los Chuchis – Menu
The menu is small, with typically about 3-4 options for appetizers and main courses respectively. There are also a few desserts. The dishes of the day do change but usually, there are some staples such as the potato skins or the chicken with lemon.
Los Chuchis also offers a lunch menu, with the option to choose the dish of the day, a beverage and a dessert.
Service
The British owner is a very lovely gentleman who runs the kitchen and also helps with taking orders from customers. Overall the service is casual and similar to what you would expect from a small neighbourhood pub or tavern.
Los Chuchis – Food
We started with an arugula salad with tomato, caramelized onion and goat cheese. A classic combination and very good quality ingredients.

Next the delicious potato skins with sour cream and salsa. A must try at Los Chuchis.

For the main courses, we opted for the lemon chicken with potatoes and garlic. Another classic combination of juicy chicken and tender potatoes cooked in the oven with lemon.

The pork with potatoes and caramelized apples was also perfectly cooked and my personal favorite from the main courses.

The vegetarian curry had several different vegetables but the curry sauce could have been more spicy and more dense in texture.

For dessert we tried the sponge cake with chocolate and banana, which was light and airy.

Conclusion
Los Chuchis is rightly a neighborhood staple in Lavapies. Its cuisine would remind you more of great homemade dishes than anything you would find in a tavern. It’s a nice place for a casual meal and you should give it a go.
