Lilo Brunch is a brunch restaurant that first opened its doors in Barcelona. In late 2023 – early 2024 it opened its first Madrid location in the vibrant Chueca neighborhood. Its signature element, apart from the playful food options, is the giant teddy bears that you can find at random tables across the restaurant.

Location/Environment

From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is both calming and playful. There is soft lighting, pale wood furnishings, and the signature giant teddy bears (named Liloso) at several tables, creating a quirky yet comforting setting. The space is pet- and family‑friendly, and has a relaxed layout that makes it suitable for solo diners, couples, or groups.

The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. Nevertheless, during busy periods, service is relatively slow.

Lilo Brunch Madrid – Menu

The menu is creative, with classic brunch options like pancakes and waffles, but also Latin American-inspired dishes like tacos and huevos rancheros.  For weekend brunch, there’s also a bottomless mimosa package.

Also worth trying one of the various in-house-made lemonades or smoothies.

Lilo Brunch Madrid – Food

We tried the club house, which is a waffle club sandwich with cheese, eggs, tomatoes, greens and vegan cilantro mayo. It comes with a signature mango and agave syrup that adds a sweet note to the dish. The waffle was a bit soggy but this was expected considering the amount of ingredients inside. Good but nothing spectacular. I would also have to say that this is a very big portion, and can easily be split among two people.

The breakfast tacos come with shredded chicken, cheese, avocado and eggs. They are topped with a spicy chipotle mayo, sour cream, and an aromatic cilantro mayo. Not extremely spicy but with an underlying heat that’s great for a breakfast/brunch dish.

Another Latin-American inspired dish is the huevos rancheros. Poached eggs, with spicy chipotle mayo sauce, cheese, avocado and pico de gallo. There are also tortilla chips on the side to dip into the creamy mix. Again, a solid dish without being overly spectacular.

Conclusion

Lilo Brunch Madrid strikes a balance between visual charm and decent flavours. Whether you’re after waffles, creative vegan dishes, or a relaxed solo stop, this spot delivers. It’s inclusive and offers something for almost every taste and dietary need. However, this will not be the best brunch you’ve had in your life, nor the best you can find in Madrid.
